During the first trimester, it’s recommended to keep essential oil use to a minimum. The levels we use in our products range from 0.04% to 0.78%, which is well below the recommended limit, so we don't consider them a risk. However, if you have any concerns, we always suggest speaking with your GP or midwife for peace of mind.
Our founder, Sarah, chose to use the full Pai range throughout both of her pregnancies and felt comfortable in doing so. However, it's important that you consider what is right for you.
Products to Avoid During Pregnancy
As a precaution, we don’t recommend using the following at any stage of pregnancy:
Viper’s Gloss – Omega Rich Night Oil
First Trimester
If you’d prefer to avoid essential oils entirely during the first trimester, please refer to our list of Essential Oil-Free Products.
Breastfeeding
Our products can be used while breastfeeding. However, we advise that you do not apply any products to the breasts beforehand to prevent ingestion.
For Your Information – Essential Oil Levels
